We would like to introduce you to one of the fundraising tools for our parish/school. It’s called “scrip”, and it’s the fundraising program that works while you do your normal day-to-day shopping.
Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift cards & certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift cards & certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including Fareway, Wal-Mart, Kwik Star, Best Buy, Kohls, Menards, Red Lobster, Casey’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and many, many others. In fact, we have over 730 vendors nation-wide!
It’s simple — scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift cards & certificates to our organization at a discount. For example, if you purchase a $100 Kwik Star scrip card, you will receive a $100 value scrip card. The scrip program purchased the $100 Scrip card for $91. The $9 difference is the profit for the scrip program.
You will find the Voucher in the bulletin each week. Cut it out and make copies! Make a purchase at one of the listed vendors using one of the accepted methods of payment. Present the Voucher to the business at the time of purchase, making sure to record your name and transaction amount. The business will keep the voucher and will forward a donation in your name to the St. John’s SCRIP Program.
YES! Last year, with everyone’s help, we were able to raise $26,555.48. Every purchase matters!
Each week on Monday, your child will bring home a scrip envelope. Follow the directions in filling out the order form and return with your child to school on Tuesday morning. Your order will be sent home with your child on Friday that same week.
YES! We are encouraging all our families to take advantage of online ordering at raiseright.com
Please contact the office (319-334-7173) for the enrollment code.
We have a scrip available for purchase during school hours at the main office, or before and after mass on the weekend.
